Michel Generations: Family

I recently had the opportunity to do an extended family photo session with three generations of a great family. I’ve been friends with this family for more than 15 years, but it’s the first time I’ve done a session with all of them together: 19 people, 3 married children, 11 grandchildren, including a pair of two-year old twins…phew!

These grandparents are so blessed with faithful children and wonderful grandchildren…a great legacy.

Five Cousins: Family

Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining two families and their beautiful children for a Father’s Day session out at Cantigny. That’s five cousins with lots of energy! We walked through the beautiful gardens and got lots of great shots.

Jen + Ryan: Family

These are our dear friends, Jen and Ryan. Adam went to Wheaton College with them, and even spent a summer in Mali (West Africa) with them. Needles to say, living in close quarters in a third world country is a very bonding experience.

Fast forward a few years, and we all end up married, working, and having children. Jen and Ryan got their family kicked off with (from L to R) Audrey, Nathan, and Camille. They have such sweet children and our kids are all good friends. We spend a lot of time together, and have even enjoyed sleepovers and vacations through the years.

Their most recent addition was a set of twins, Colin and Andrew. They’re two years old now and provide non-stop action! It’s no wonder that everybody in their house is asleep by 9pm.

About 30 minutes into our photo session I started to wonder if it was statistically impossible for 7 people (with two-year-old twins) to all look in the same direction at the same time, but we had a great time and captured some great images!

Hannah + Drew: Engagement

This engagement session has been a long time coming, but I finally got out with our friends Drew and Hannah this weekend for a great shoot. It was a bit early and a bit chilly for a Saturday morning, but the weather worked out perfectly and we really enjoyed our time in the park. Drew is an amazing bike builder and works in a local bike shop, so the bikes you’ll see in the gallery aren’t just props. They’re custom-built cruisers with some of the sweetest details and the perfect attitude. The three of us rode over together and captured the joy of their engagement (and their sweet rides).

Happy Mother’s Day: Personal

Mother’s Day was nice and quiet, and included a photo shoot with Adam. The youngest two were napping, but Katie and Andrew enjoyed being in some of the pictures. I am so thankful God has given Adam and I the blessings of four healthy, beautiful and fun-loving children. I love being their mom!

Asharae + Tim: Engagement

Tim and Asharae have become dear friends over the last year. Asharae shot my first wedding with me last fall and I’m looking forward to the privilege of shooting their wedding this summer. It was a crisp, cold day so we started out at a local coffee shop before we headed out into the snow.

They’re so full of joy and laughter that it makes them so easy to shoot. We had a great time this afternoon and it shows in the photos. Click the image below for the full gallery.

Janlee + Zach: Wedding

I’m so excited to share a slideshow from the Johnson wedding. It’s only the first wedding I’ve shot, but we had such a good time and captured such great images! My shooting partner, Asharae, has such a creative eye and between the two of us we captured the joy of the entire weekend.

Janlee + Zach: Wedding Preview

Well we’re almost done editing our first wedding shoot and it’s been a very interesting experience. I’ve always been a very organized photographer, but this type of event has definitely introduced new challenges. :-)

I’ll post some images from the wedding here soon, but in the meantime here’s another little teaser…two of the shots are mine and two are by Asharae, my shooting partner for the wedding. I was so glad she was there with us and she did a fantastic job!

Janlee + Zach: Wedding Tease

Dear Zach and Janlee,

We’re grateful to be your friends, flattered to be your wedding guests, and thrilled to be your wedding photographer. We’ve had such a great weekend with you and your families here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Your entire wedding experience was so intimate and personal and I so enjoyed capturing memories of the entire weekend. I hope you’re NOT surfing the web on your honeymoon, but here’s a little tease until you’re back.

Fondly,
Adam

Janlee + Zach: Engagement

If I could quit my day job…I’d be a photographer. I did an engagement shoot last night for our house guest, Janlee, and her fiancé, Zach, and I had a blast. They have both become wonderful friends to our family and we’re sad to think Janlee is going to move out in a few weeks. Good news for her is that she’ll be married to a great guy.

We’re grateful to be invited to their wedding and our whole family is looking forward to the event. I’ve been observing and practicing because I’m also going to shoot their wedding along with another photographer. Exciting and sobering. Gulp!

Here’s more of Zach and Janlee.
